MEET THE MAKER
ABOUT ME
As a young girl right through to adulthood, I grew up thinking I wasn't creative. As I entered my thirties, I started to question that belief system. In 2020, I quit my corporate job, began teaching yoga, and set out to tap into my creative side. I began wire-wrapping crystals in 2022, which soon set me on the path of silversmithing. I was instantly hooked.
One YouTube video lead to another and, years later, my little sofa hobby has grown into something resembling an actual business! Running Samadhi Studio is an absolute dream. I design and make everything from my home studio in Leicester. I still have so much more to explore within my business but I'm just greatful to have made it this far.
INSPIRATION
I'm a yogi at heart and have a deep sense of appreciation for our planet. I try to weave my love for nature in my jewellery, often using semi-precious stones and nature-inspired designs. My designs are based on 3 principles:
STYLE ~ designing simple staples to statement pieces
SENTIMENT ~ often creating jewellery that represents something meaningful
SUSTAINABILITY ~ my brand endeavours to hold our planet's wellbeing at its core
Where possible, I use recycled silver and eco-friendly packaging, as well as ethically-sourced gemstones.
People have asked me why I don't mass-produce jewellery to sell to retailers. But that's not my aspiration at all. My aim as a silversmith is to retain the magic of artisan jewellery and to enjoy jewellery without placing a huge burden on our planet. For me, mass-produced jewellery has no charm or heart.
